Rebuild help...

hey guys just need some advice from you guys who have done a body off restore. The old fire wall support piece on mine is real rusted and needs to be replaced. How do i get the old one off without doing to much damage to the surrounding area? I don't see any welds but maybe i just didn't look hard enough. Any advice would be great. I can post a pic if needed. Thanks
