| I located a 1600 single port for my '69 but it definately needs to be rebuilt. I can do mechanical repairs but I'm not an "engine mechanic"! Is this something I can pull off in my garage or should I have it done by a pro? I'm thinking I probably dont want to deal with it, can someone recommend a reputable mechanic or company? Thanks for the help. | |

| X2 what Troy & K1 said. Total Performance, Olsens, & Fisher are local & should be on your short list. | |

| You could always use it as an exchange for a freshly built 1641 dual port. Thats what I did. I bought an engine that had seen better days from a yard sale for $100.00 and traded it at Fisher for a new one. | |

| @ the-jerm, how much do they give for an exchange? I'd have two long blocks to trade but one has a hole in it so I dont think it would be worth much. I'm gonna call Fisher monday morning and toss some numbers around. Thanks for the feedback everyone!! | |
