| My bug will not start, can any one help me? I had a loud scraping sound from the motor fan. I took it off and the dog house. I stripped it to a long block. When I put it all back it will not start. I put all the wires back as marked and it cranks but will not start. There is no spark from the coil. If any one has any clue I would like to hear it THANKS | |

| Do you have power going to the coil? | |

| Make sure your power wire and points wire aren't swapped on the coil. The ONLY thing you should have on the (-) side of the coil is the points (green) or pertronix (black), and if you have a tach, a wire for that. Anything else and it will not run. | |

| I made the mistake of swapping the coil + and the oil sensor wire before. It happens. | |

| You shouldn't have power on the (-) side.
Did you remove the distributor at all? | |

| Coil crapped out? Might you have another one to stick in its place to test? | |

| If it ran before pulling it apart I would lean towards an assembly error. Coincidences do occur but are pretty unlikely. | |

| Thanks everyone for trying to help. The guys over in the Volky club helped me. Seems The-jerm was right. After 2hrs and changing the coil and dist. with his own, Wilmar said did you mark the 5 wires? and I said not realy only 2 go on this side so he switched the (+) and oil sender wires and it started. Well Thanks again guys for your support. | |

| Moved from the BS File to the Electrical . Seemed like the right place for it. | |
