Sneaky Regulator

I cannot find the regulator on a 1969 Bus. It isn't next to the fan or the battery or underneath the Bus. Any suggestions?

This is an alternator equipped bus engine (1969)

the regulator is built in
Notice how much bigger the alternator is than the pulley

this is a generator equipped engine (1968)

the pulley is about the same size as the generator
notice the circled area that is where the regulator is.

you can see the regulator. in this case a silver box or it may be black and note the Big red wires attached to it. It's located behind the stock air cleaner!

If all else fails follow the wires from the generator and you will find the regulator.
