| One could reason the more crap you put on your car the more issues you have. I have A LOT of crap on my car. LOL. Where do I start. I have noticed my car wasn't running real good lately. Jerry made the comment at the Country Market that It didn't like to idle, and he was right. I spent all day at my buddies house wrenching on this thing only to find out I was only running 3/4 throttle. Some how the throttle cable slipped and being the TPS is calibrated on a wide open throttle, the cars ECU was trying to compensate a bad air/fuel mix but it was getting bad readings. We messed with it most of the day to find a torn intake gasket...so one cylinder was either lean or rich depending on if its on boost or not. So tomorrow its off to NAPA for some gasket material. On a good note. We installed a pair of 8000k HID head lights (very cool). The front sway bar was next and after some grinding on the lower control arm it seemed to clear good enough. My car has the turning radius of a school bus due to the wider rims and tires I have up front. After that we installed a new cylinder head temp gauge. Its a custom one made using a VDO cylinder head temp gauge then I took off the face and a buddy of mine that dose wraps for boats made me an AutoMeter face plate to go over it! Bling!! A one of a kind gauge....SWEET. All in all aside from the air?fuel issues, it was a productive day in the garage. | |

| We got finished today and let me say it is screaming now. WOW my car has never run better. When I took Bob on that ride I blew half of left intake gasket out. ( I guess it couldn't handle all the boost) So I was loosing air on boost and sucking air on vacuum. Two new gaskets and a new TPS flash and it purrs like a kitten. A big angry eat your ass up, kitten. See you in Brooksville Friday night | |

| Yes, and some time in the past couple months or so my throttle cable loosened up and I have been only running at 3/4 throttle. | |

| New chapter. Car has been running great till London took a picture of it...lol. As soon as I started it after that, it wouldn't idle again. I did notice on the ride home my cylinder temp were only 150 deg. Now I know that's not right. I have a feeling my #3 plug and or wire isn't working. That's where my temp sending unit is connected. So tomorrow I will rip it apart AGAIN, and let you know. It never ends.....

| All very true. With it being a fairly new build, I know I'm going to run into bugs till I get them all solved. Well another one solved. This one was easy. I was close on my theory. It was the #4 plug. I have NGK plugs and you have to screw on the tips, well it backed off and was only running on 3 cylinders. I hope it ends. So London and his camera are off the hook....LOL | |

| WOW, that's so weird. Mike (tattoo'ed guy with the ornamental decklid) was saying his buddy Gred (parked by you with the primer bus last night) had the same exact thing happen on the way home from Brookville Friday night.
What I was taught to do is to screw the tip on, then squeeze the middle of it with a pair of side cutters. Basically just deform it enough to where it can't vibrate off. | |

| Im down for a couple weeks. I never got around to wet sanding and buffing the car after paint and now things have slowed down enough to where I can get it done. It in the garage all lights are out and 1500 grit sandpaper marks all over it...lol [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Well here we go again. For the last month or so she just hasn't been running right. I thought a valve adjustment was in order. I take off the cover for 3&4 and I see the end of the no 3 intake push rod had come off the rocker. WTF man. I put it back on and while trying to adjust the valves but run out of screw. This isn't good. I take off the rockers and notice the that valve is sucked in 1/8 " or so. So its either a bent valve or its getting hung up on the valve guide, either way it sucks. I spent most of the day yesterday pulling the engine (it takes most of the day cause I can't be like normal people. I have to put all this shit on my car) lol. I haven't taken off the head yet to truly see the problem yet, that's tomorrow. On the good side my bus came in so now I have two things to work on...YEA. | Well here it is. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] That is the no3 intake valve seat on a pair of 044 Ultra Mag Plus Cylinder heads. The valve seat came out of the head. That's NOT suppose to happen. Not on a pair of $1200 heads. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] That is what happens when a valve beats against your balanced set of pistons. Not like I can buy one piston. I have sent the pictures to Marie Ann at CB Performance and now the ball is in their court. I will either sing their praises or shit talk them over every VW website I can find. Stay tuned. | |

| Here's hoping that CB Perf. steps up to the plate! That engine doesn't have very many hours/miles on it to be coughing up a valve like that. | |

| Well I heard back from CB today and basically I'm S.O.L. They don't feel as tho the valve seat failure was their fault and it was all me. I could go into the whole conversation but it was long and not real pleasant at the end. It's a racing part and are sold with out a warranty as is, says so on the receipt as it was pointed out to me. I do know one thing. I spent around $8,000 with CB in building my car and that's how I was treated. I wonder how they treat people who spend $87.65? | |

| unfortunatley if over the phone or now days the internet customer service when not face to face is exactly the same non existant. companies only care about the almighty $. the customer isn't always right anymore and customer satisfaction really doesn't matter either.it doesn't matter if it is a racing product or not when building a quality product back it with your companies reputation and make things right with your customers. i do know that C.B. is an expensive company to purchase items from but not only are you paying for their name but their quality products or so i thought. i am thinking it is time for me to start rethinking my parts list for future engine projects and try to find a manufacture that is willing to stand behind and actually back their products. just my opinion but then again who the heck am i. Rob i feel bad for you bro just remember that we do support you. if there is anything that we on this site or i personally can do please let us know. | |
