Lights are hard to see in the daytime [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]so are the brakes [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and right turn [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Replacement LED tail lights [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Note the single contacts [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Car has DOUBLE contact 1154 bulbs (orig 32 ford did not have turn signals, just lights and brakes) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A completed assembly [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Black is LIGHTS, red is BRAKES, Whit is ground on the LED LIGHTS [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Wrap the 1154 bulb in a paper towel and break it. We want the base. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Remove the center section and unsolder the elements. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The diodes are to isolate the Brake and Turn leads that will be jumpered together [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Connect a diode (band is up) and a jumper (green) to the black contact on the base. This is TURN. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The BLACK lead (LIGHTS) is reconnected to the 1154 base. The base has two bayonets, with the base down and the low bayonet on the left, the black wire connects to the pin closest to the viewer. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Connect the red (BAKE) lead to the green jumper (TURN) with a diode (band up) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Connect the diode to the 1154 base. with the base down and the low bayonet on the left, the red green wire connects to the pin farthest from the viewer. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Connect the White (ground) to the 1154 base. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]File the contacts smooth [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Tiewrap the loose wires [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Install one at a time to SMOKE CHECK, testing each function before closing up. Here is LIGHTS on [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here is BRAKES on, a huge improvement over the original light. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Note: Because we have tied the TURN and BRAKE together, The TURN signal will not be seen when The brakes are applied. As soon as the brakes are released, the TURN signal will again be seen.

Good work Jerry! Now we can tell when you are stopping by the lights instead of listing for the change of the exhaust note!

Those would be 6Volt, difficult to find and expensive. An easier solution would be to find the LED replacement for your bulb size and just replace the bulbs. Jerry

There's a company in hot vws as well as on the samba that sale 6v and 12 v led tail lights....6v are a lil more money. They come with connectors and what not I think to so it's almost a plug n play...12 v were right around 100 pr. IMO the ones from hot vws looked nicer quality. Ill see if i can find the ad and post it's site Here's the ones from samba but says they're 12 v only... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
