| I recently purchased a 1961 standard beetle and had to re-build the engine. I'm going to be putting the long block together tomorrow night (after getting the crank polished and having the case align bored) and am so excited to get this car back on the road! Just thought I'd share this with you all. I'll keep you posted on the progress and take pics as I build it up. | |

| Well, I got the long block together on Friday night. I've been sanding and painting engine tin all weekend. Yesterday I got everything on the engine with the exeption of the alternator and fan assembly, but I'll get that on after work today. I also need to modify my pulley tin to fit around the full flow fittings then it's install time! If everything goes according to plan, I should hear it running as early as Wednesday. I didn't get many pictures of the assembly though...too focused and greasy! Ha-ha! | |

| *UPDATE* Almost had everything assembled...but when I went to install my fan housing and Alternator........I had a stupid generator stand! Doh! So now I am just waiting for Classic Camber to get me an alternator stand and some push rod tube deflector (sleigh) tins. I'm also in need of an early shift rod coupling...it's got a lot of slop and was more than likely my problem with grinding gears. So I'm hoping they call today with the parts so I can slap this thing in, clean up the the wiring a little bit and ROLL OUT! | |

| Yessir! I got my tins today and my alternator stand! I spent this evening making sure everything was right with the engine....double checking torque settings, cleaning up wiring, installing the tin and alternator stand...as of now everything is ready.....gonna slap it in in the morning! I'm so excited! I'll post pictures of the process when I'm done. (tomorrow hopefully) | |
