Does anyone know how to wire a generator on a 1500cc motor?? This is driving me nuts!! If anyone has a diagram or anything, it would be most helpful!!

PostSubject: GENERATOR   10/13/2009, 11:13 am

HEY THERE I JUST FINISHED PUTTING IN A NEW ALTERBATOR ON MY 1972 1600 CC ENGINE.I BELIVE FROM 1972 AND EARLIER USE GENERATOR HOWEVER WHEN I WENT TO THE AUTOPARTS THEY CROSS REFERENCE IT TO A ALTERNATOR WITH A VOLTAGE REGULATOR ATTACHED ON TOP . SO THERE FOR YOU DONT NEED TO BUY A VOLTAGE REGULATOR .AND DONT USE THE OLD ONE EITHER NOT NEEDED. I CAN SEND YOU PICS IF STILL NEED THEM

ON TOP OF THE ALTERNATOR THERE WILL BE 3 CONNECTIONS
1--- MARK B+ FOR POSITIVE TO BATTERY OR STARTER

2-- NEXT TO THAT ONE IS FOR THE GEN LIGHT WHICH TURN ON AND OF WHEN ENGINE STARTS

3-- NEGATIVE

GOOD LUCK
