| Yea I sold the bus so I could get A bug. I just didnt like my daughter being so far away from me in the bus. So i found this jem!! Yea the lady I sold the bus to is very nice and she has been sending me pics of what she is doing to it. So I know it is being loved. The bug is great but it has a cheery bomb on it and im not the biggest fan of them. Anyone want to trade mufflers??? | |

| By the way is it normal for you to smell gas??? I have never had a bug before so I didnt know if it was normal. The tank was just replaced by the way. | |

| there is a flexible line and a few flexi-pieces that dry-rot and can seep fuel and fuel vapors. Those lines are between the filler neck and the tank. You can get them from one of the many online retailers. cheap and easy fix. | |

| Thanks quite!! I have felt all the lines and none of them are wet but I think the best thing to do is just replace them all. Thanks again!! | |

| I have had ours done for over a year, replaced the tank, all lines and I am still fighting with smells. As recently as today I rerouted my vapor line. Does yours have all the lines and tubes and plastic crap and the charcoal filter in the fenderwell and all of that junk? Mine did not, so I had to create my own. It is necessary for fuel expansion, trust me, I found out the hard way...........At a Car Show of all places. I'll tell you the story sometime. Not a good one. I agree with you on the exhaust. I went with a stock muffler and cool tips that I hollowed out. | |

| Nice super, love the rims too! congrats! Yep, use the nose to find those persistent gas vapors and get close! Do you smell it only when the car is moving and the windows are down? (sucking stuff through the back! maybe a hole in the firewall?????) etc. | |

| Beautiful ride sir! Congrats! I dig the color. Do you smell the gas more when you make left turns? With the filler neck on the right, the gas will slosh back up the neck when making left turns. At least thats what I found on my '72. Gas smell or no, I hope you enjoy her! | |

| Click these, it will give you an idea on Value. Yours looked to be in pretty good shape, when I saw them. You might consider holding on to them. You never know when Johnny Law will change the Bumper Law back. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| Well I tried taking the bumpers off today but I didnt even get five min into the project when I noticed I didnt have the right wrench lol. So ill have to wait till tomorrow for the bumper removal. I also noticed something else wile I was messing with the bug. There are two levers by my E-brake that I was told was for heat. I have been trying to find out where the heat came out of and I think I did it!! does the heat come out of the two pipes under the backseat??? I will let you guys know how the bumper removal goes tomorrow. | |

| There is supposed to be tubes that carry the heat from those tubes into the heater channels, which brings it out up by your feet.It also passes up both sides of the dash into your fresh/recirc box under your dash(for defrost). The heat is generated at your exhaust. I believe when I looked under your car, that your heater boxes and all the associated hardware has been removed. If that is the case, your heat won't work. That means......not a little, or I think it's getting warm...............NO HEAT, like mine. BRRRRRRRR Do you see these big-ass hunks of metal hanging from your exhaust pipes? (you'll need to get on your knees and look under the back of the car) If not, no heat. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

Ill try and take some pics of her without her bumpers to post on here for you guys. GO VW!!!! | |
